The Department of Telecom has announced a new notification for SIM card users.
If there are more than 9 SIMs registered in your name, KYC is required.
Even if you use one or two SIM cards, do you know how many SIM cards are registered with your ID? If you don't know the answer to this question, you can get in trouble. According to the new rule of the telecommunications department, only 9 SIMs can be activated in one ID.
The limit is 6 SIMs for the northeastern states, including Jammu and Kashmir and Assam. If there are more than 9 SIMs registered in your name, then you need to do KYC. If the SIM is not verified, it will be disabled.
The Department of Telecom has issued a notice on December 7. Consequently, customers will have 60 days to verify the SIM. International roaming users, sick and disabled customers will receive an additional 30 days. The Telecom Department has developed a portal called TAFCOP (Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection). Step by step process
✅ First open the portal tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in.
✅ Login with the mobile number and OTP in the box here.
✅ You will see a list of all active SIM card mobile numbers from your ID.
✅ If there is a number on this list that you do not know, you can report it.
✅ For that, select the number and select 'This is not my number'.
✅ Submit the name written on the ID provided in the box above.
✅ Now click on the Report box below.
✅ You will also receive a ticket identification reference number after filing a complaint.
