Under the 'One Nation-One Ration Card' initiative, eligible recipients could make use of the cereal grains that are eligible under the NFSA at any fair price store in the country using the same ration card.
The installation of the One Nation One ration card aims to ensure the delivery of food safety rights to all beneficiaries covered by the National Food Safety Act, regardless of a person's physical location. According to the National Food Security Act of 2013, around 81 crore of Indians have the right to buy subsidized food grains, rice at ₹ 3 / kg, wheat at ₹ 2 / kg and coarse grains at Re 1 / kg, of their designated FPS of recipients Public Distribution System (TPDS).

A total of nine states in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh have implemented the plan.
In particular, the plan was launched by the Center in May 2020 and was adopted in June. This scheme was announced by the Center for the economically weaker section to ensure that no one dies of hunger amid the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme covers 67 million beneficiaries in 23 states, with 83 percent of the PDS population to gain access in August 2020 and 100 percent by March 2021.
The One Nation One ration card program guarantees the provision of food safety rights to all beneficiaries covered by the National Food Safety Act, regardless of the person's physical location.
